Estimating is a critical function in our success--directly shaping the projects we pursue and how we deliver value.</p><h2><strong>The Opportunity</strong></h2><p>We are hiring a <strong>Civil Estimator with 3-5 years of civil construction estimating experience</strong> to support and lead bid development for infrastructure projects across <strong>Calgary and Western Canada</strong>.</p><p>In this role, you will own key parts of the <strong>full estimating lifecycle</strong>--from <strong>quantity takeoffs and cost analysis to bid submission and project handoff</strong>. Cost Analysis</strong></h3><ul><li>Prepare detailed <strong>quantity takeoffs and cost estimates</strong> for:</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Earthworks and excavation</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Underground utilities (water, sanitary, storm)</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Road construction and granular structures</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Asphalt paving</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Concrete flatwork (curbs, sidewalks, slabs)</li><li>Analyze drawings, specifications, and tender documents to identify:</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Cost drivers</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Productivity assumptions</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Project risks and constructability factors</li><li>Support development of <strong>construction methodologies, sequencing, and equipment strategies</strong></li></ul><h3><strong>Bid Preparation &amp; Strategy</strong></h3><ul><li>Contribute to <strong>competitive bid submissions</strong> and estimate summaries</li><li>Participate in <strong>bid review meetings</strong>, pricing alignment, and risk evaluation</li><li>Support <strong>bid strategy development</strong> to improve win rates and project selection</li><li>Prepare clear and organized <strong>tender documentation and scope breakdowns</strong></li></ul><h3><strong>Subcontractor &amp; Supplier Management</strong></h3><ul><li>Solicit, review, and level <strong>subcontractor and supplier quotes</strong></li><li>Ensure scope coverage aligns with drawings and tender requirements</li><li>Build relationships with subcontractors and vendors in the civil construction market</li></ul><h3><strong>Estimating Tools &amp; Civil Construction Estimator

Do you have at least three (3) years of estimating experience in civil construction projects such as earthworks, underground utilities, or road construction?

Have you personally developed complete project estimates including labor, equipment, materials, and subcontract scopes?

Do you have hands-on experience reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents to develop construction estimates?

Are you legally authorized to work in Canada for any employer without the need for current or future visa sponsorship?

This position requires full-time work at BAAC Construction’s Calgary office (Monday–Friday). Are you able to work on-site at this location?
