<p><strong>Salary Range: $115,000 - $140,000</strong></p><p><strong>Company:</strong> BAAC Construction<br></p><p> <strong>Location:</strong> Alberta &amp; Western Canada (project-based travel required)</p><h3><br></h3><h3><strong>Position Summary</strong></h3><p>We are seeking a highly experienced <strong>Senior Project Manager</strong> specializing in <strong>long-haul fiber-optic network construction</strong> to lead complex, large-scale telecommunications infrastructure projects across Alberta and Western Canada.</p><p>This role requires a proven leader who thrives in fast-paced field environments and can successfully manage multi-discipline construction teams, tight schedules, and diverse stakeholders. The successful candidate will oversee projects from early planning through construction, testing, commissioning, and final handover -- ensuring delivery that is <strong>safe, on time, on budget, and fully compliant</strong> with provincial standards and industry best practices.</p><h3><br></h3><h3><strong>Key Competencies</strong></h3><ol><li><strong>Telecommunications Infrastructure</strong><br> Extensive experience managing backbone and long-haul fiber builds, rural and remote deployments, transport networks, and interconnect facilities. Strong understanding of permitting, right-of-way access, utility coordination, constructability, splicing sequencing, and field QA/QC.</li><li><strong>Advanced Project Scheduling &amp; Controls</strong><br> Expert-level proficiency with <strong>Microsoft Project</strong>, including master schedule development, critical path analysis, resource leveling, dashboard reporting, and schedule recovery planning. Skilled in earned value and progress tracking methodologies.</li><li><strong>End-to-End Project Delivery</strong><br> Proven ability to lead projects from conceptual design through construction, testing, commissioning, and handover. Experience managing civil crews, aerial construction, trenching/boring contractors, fiber installation teams, and inspection staff.</li><li><strong>Regulatory &amp; Permitting Knowledge</strong><br>Deep familiarity with Alberta regulatory frameworks including municipal approvals, Alberta Transportation, First Nations consultation processes, environmental requirements, land access, and utility coordination.</li><li><strong>Vendor &amp; Contractor Management</strong><br>Strong track record of managing multiple contractors, negotiating scope, reviewing change orders, validating production quantities, and ensuring adherence to safety, specifications, and performance KPIs.</li><li><strong>Risk &amp; Issue Management</strong><br> Experienced in identifying and mitigating risks related to terrain, weather, supply chains, permitting delays, and construction sequencing.</li><li><strong>Stakeholder Communication</strong><br>Clear and confident communicator able to collaborate with engineering teams, construction partners, clients, local authorities, and executive leadership.
