Position Overview

BAAC Construction Inc. is hiring an experienced HDD Driller to support fibre optic and underground utility projects across Calgary and surrounding areas.

We are looking for a motivated operator who can safely and efficiently run HDD equipment in residential, commercial, and urban environments. This role focuses primarily on drilling operations, production, and crew coordination.

What You'll Do

• Operate HDD drilling equipment for fibre optic and underground utility installations
• Complete bores safely and accurately in residential and urban environments
• Read drill profiles and construction drawings
• Coordinate with locators and ground crews during drilling operations
• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
• Support site setup, safety procedures, and production goals
• Work alongside labourers, operators, and supervisors to complete projects efficiently
• Maintain a clean and organized job site

Requirements

• Minimum 2-3 years of HDD drilling experience
• Experience drilling fibre optic or underground utility projects
• Ability to work safely around existing utilities
• Valid Class 5 driver's license
• Ability to tow trailers and equipment is considered an asset
• Ground Disturbance Level II preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable transportation
