The Opportunity This role is a strong fit for an experienced labourer who wants consistent, local work while building deeper expertise in underground utilities and civil infrastructure. You'll be part of a field crew responsible for installing and maintaining critical systems, working alongside operators, pipelayers, and forepersons to keep projects moving safely and efficiently. We are seeking candidates with experience in shallow utilities, deep utilities, sewer and water infrastructure, trenching, and pipe installation who are ready to contribute on active job sites across Calgary. Benefits <ul><li>CA$22.00 - CA$23.00 per hour</li><li>Company events</li><li>Dental care</li><li>Disability insurance</li><li>Extended health care</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Vision care</li></ul>What You'll Do<ul><li>Support installation of underground infrastructure including water mains, sewer mains, storm systems, shallow utility conduits, services, valves, hydrants, and related systems</li><li>Assist with deep utility excavations, trench support, tie-ins, grade adjustments, and repairs across active job sites</li><li>Perform pipelaying duties, including aligning pipe, checking grade, assisting with laser setup, and installing bedding/backfill</li><li>Contribute to PRV chamber, valve chamber, and manhole installations using PVC, HDPE, concrete, and related materials</li><li>Perform trenching support, bedding, compaction, and backfill to ensure quality and safety standards are met</li><li>Work closely with operators and crew leads to maintain productivity and meet project timelines</li><li>Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites, including material handling and site setup/cleanup</li></ul>What Success Looks Like Within the first 6-12 months:<ul><li>You consistently contribute to safe, efficient installations with minimal rework or delays</li><li>Crews rely on you to anticipate needs, stay productive, and support daily progress on site</li><li>You demonstrate strong safety leadership by identifying hazards and taking action early</li><li>Your work supports accurate, high-quality installation of underground utilities and infrastructure</li><li>Supervisors view you as dependable, consistent, and ready for increased responsibility</li></ul>What We're Looking For<ul><li>Previous experience in civil construction, underground utilities, sewer and water, pipelaying, or shallow/deep utility projects</li><li>Hands-on familiarity with water mains, services, manholes, valves, PRVs, PVC, HDPE, storm systems, or sanitary systems</li><li>Experience working in trenches and around excavators, loaders, and compactors</li><li>Strong commitment to safety and proven safe work habits</li><li>Valid Class 3 or Class 5 Driver's License with a clean abstract</li><li>Physically capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions</li><li>Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a crew</li></ul>Assets (Nice to Have)<ul><li>Safety certifications such as First Aid, Ground Disturbance, H2S, or CSTS</li><li>Experience reading grades, drawings, or utility plans</li><li>Experience using lasers, pipe levels, or grade rods</li><li>Experience around heavy civil crews and underground utility installations</li></ul>Compensation and Benefits<ul><li>Hourly pay: $22-$33 per hour (based on experience)</li><li>Employment type: Full-time</li><li>Overtime opportunities available</li><li>Consistent, local work in Calgary</li><li>Opportunities for advancement within a growing company</li><li>Safety-focused, team-oriented work environment</li></ul>Work Location / Schedule<ul><li>Location: Calgary, AB (local candidates only)</li><li>Work setting: On-site / field-based</li><li>Schedule: Monday to Friday, with additional hours as required</li></ul>How to Apply If you're an experienced labourer looking for steady work, strong crews, and the opportunity to grow in civil construction, we encourage you to apply.
